Australia's under-19 team will tour India in September to play five one-day matches against the Indian under-19 squad.

Cricket Australia, in a statement on Thursday, said the matches will be played at Faridabad, Mohali, Dharamshala and Delhi, and will be preceded by a three-day training camp at the Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence.

The team's coach, Brian McFadyen, said the tour will not only provide the squad some valuable experience in subcontinent conditions, but also give the Australian selectors a chance to look at players who may be chosen for the forthcoming Youth World Cup.

"We're really looking forward to the tour and have selected a squad of players that we think is well balanced and capable of success," said McFadyen.

"This squad is by no means that which will be selected for the Youth World Cup, but it will certainly provide selectors with an insight into some of Australia's most promising junior players and give them a wealth of experience in subcontinent conditions as they continue their development into senior ranks," he added.

The squad: Jackson Bird (NSW), Patrick Darwen (NSW), Aaron Finch (VIC), Ben Gledhill (QLD), Moises Henriques (NSW), Shannon Hurn (SA), Usman Khawaja (NSW), Jack McNamara (VIC), Graeme Skennar (QLD), Tom Stray (VIC), Chris Thompson (WA), David Warner (NSW), Philip Wells (NSW).

Head coach: Brian McFadyen

Assistant coach: Matthew Mott

Physiotherapist: Max Pfizner

Schedule:
September 18:
Faridabad
September 21: Mohali
September 24-25: Dharamshala
September 28: Delhi.
