Zimbabwe puts Australia in to bat

Zimbabwe on Thursday won the toss and put Australia in to bat in the first Test at Perth.

This is Zimbabwe's first Test in Australia though the sides had met once before in Harare in 1999 with the latter emerging the winner.

The teams:
Australia: Steve Waugh (captain), Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Darren Lehmann, Damien Martyn, Brett Lee, Andy Bichel, Jason Gillespie, Stuart MacGill.

Zimbabwe: Heath Streak (captain), Dion Ebrahim, Andy Blignaut, Trevor Gripper, Mark Vermeulen, Stuart Carlisle, Craig Evans, Craig Wishart, Tatenda Taibu, Sean Ervine, Ray Price.
