A day after his wife came under attack on social media over her outfit, India fast bowler Mohammed Shami on Monday lashed out at the trolls, calling them 'jealous' of his success.

The Bengal pacer had shared a family photograph with wife Hasin Jahan and their daughter Aairah on Sunday after which he faced a lot of abuse on Twitter with some fans questioning why his wife was not wearing a hijab.

"Very good morning Har kisi ko jindagi mai mukam ni milta, kuch kismat wale hi hote hai jinhe ye nasib hota hai.!.jalteee rahooooo... Ye dono meri zindage or life partner hai me acha trha janta hu kiya karna hai kiya nahi.hame apne andar dekhna chahiye ham kitna accha hai. (Not everyone manages to realise their dreams, but only a few lucky ones are able to do it. You can continue to be jealous. These two [wife and daughter] are my life and I very well know what to do and what not to. Please look inside yourself first and see how good you are)," he said on Twitter on Monday.

The 26-year-old pacer got support from India player Mohammed Kaif, who termed the comments as 'shameful'.

"The comments are really really Shameful. Support Mohammed Shami fully. There are much bigger issues in this country. Hope sense prevails," Kaif tweeted.

Not so long ago, Shami was playing a Test match for India while his daughter was admitted in the ICU of a Kolkata hospital after suffering from high fever. It was during the second Test in Kolkata against New Zealand in October as Shami continued to play for India despite his daughter being taken to the hospital during the second day of the Test match.
