Statistical highlights of the opening day's play in the first Test between India and New Zealand at Hamilton on Wednesday.

186 runs added by Jesse Ryder and Daniel Vettori -- highest seventh-wicket partnership for New Zealand against India.

181 Guptill's catch, off the bowling of Zaheer Khan, was Rahul Dravid's 181st catch in Test cricket. It put him level with Australia's Mark Waugh. Dravid had the chance to surpass Waugh, but he spilled a chance offered by Vettori in slips.
