First T20: Record number of sixes hit

61        Runs added by Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh [Images] for the eighth wicket partnership, the highest for this wicket in Twenty20 [Images] internationals. The previous record was of 59* also for India between Pathan brothers against Sri Lanka [Images] at Colombo just two weeks back.

24        Number of sixes hit in the match - a new world record. The previous record was of 20 sixes between India and Australia [Images] in the World Cup game at Durban in 2007.

19        Runs scored by Sehwag in the first over of the match - most runs scored in the first over of a Twenty20 international. The previous record was of 16 runs by Australia against South Africa [Images] at Johannesburg in 2006.

6          Suresh Raina became the sixth Indian batsman to score a fifty in Twenty20 internationals after Gautam Gambhir [Images] (4), Yuvraj Singh [Images] (2), Virender Sehwag [Images], Rohit Sharma [Images] and Robin Uthappa (once apiece).

3          Number of no-balls sent down by Ishant Sharma [Images]. Only Shoaib Akhtar [Images] has bowled more (5) in a Twenty20 international (v Kenya in 2007). Australia's Brett Lee [Images] also bowled three no-balls against Bangladesh at Cape Town in 2007.

1          McCullum became the first batsman to aggregate 500 runs in this format of international cricket.
