Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar says Lord Ganesha holds a special place in his heart and he prays to him every day.
"Ganpati is in my heart. It is not because it is the Ganesh Utsav that I remember or worship Ganpati; I remember and pray to him everyday," Tendulkar said in Mumbai on Saturday.
Ganesh Chaturthi, the birthday of Lord Ganesh, was celebrated on September 3.
Every year Ganesha, the lord of success and the destroyer of obstacles, is brought home and honoured during the ten-day festival.
"The Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations happen everyday; it is special and it gives us peace of mind. There is a different atmosphere everywhere during the festival. As far as praying is concerned, I do that every morning and before every match," he added.
