Shocked by the footage of horror shown on television, spin legend Shane Warne [Images], stranded in Singapore en route to Mumbai, said no amount of money would make him tour the troubled Indian metropolis for the now-postponed Champions League.

Warne, who led Rajasthan Royals [Images] in the Indian Premier League [Images], and Darren Berry, director of coaching of the IPL side, reached Singapore on their way to Mumbai for the Champions Trophy [Images]. Once they walked into the transit lounge of the airport, both were stunned by what they saw on television and Warne said there was simply no question of going Mumbai. 

"I'm shocked," Warne told the Herald Sun.

"Chuck (Berry) and I got off the plane and saw the news on TV. It's unbelievable. The place is chaos. We are heading to Mumbai and that's the hotel we are staying at. I don't think we will be going (to India) now. Why would you?" 

Incidentally, both were supposed to stay at the same Taj Mahal hotel [Images], which was under siege by the terrorists.

In Singapore, Warne refused to board the connecting flight and instead, decided to stay put there, waiting to hear from Cricket Australia [Images].

"At this stage I am going to stay where I am for the rest of the day, but I reckon we are certainties to be on a flight heading home later on Thursday.

"It is just not worth the risk. No about of money is worth the risk with what is going on over there at the moment," he said.

Much to the relief of Warne and all other visiting players, the Champions League organisers subsequently postponed the event.
