Lahore [Images] Badshahs beat Chennai Superstars by 13 runs in the Indian Cricket League Twenty20 [Images] championship at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stadium in Ahmedabad [Images] on Sunday.

Superstars and Badshahs both qualified for the semi-finals and will battle it out again on Monday for place in the final.

The other semi-final is between Hyderabad Heroes and Bengal Tigers, on November 11.

Chasing a mammoth 211, Superstars were restricted to 198 for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Despite a fantastic unbeaten 76 off 38 balls (4x4, 6x6) by Rajagopal Sathish, Superstares fell short of the target.

Superstars got off to a steady start, the openers putting on 34 runs before Ganapathi Vignesh was out in the fourth over.

Opener Ian Harvey made a useful 54 in 29 balls, comprising off five fours and four sixes, before he was out in the seventh over, with Superstars 84 for 2.

Satish anchored the innings as wickets tumbled at the other end. He hit six sixes and four fours, forcing Badshahs to rethink their strategy.

But fantastic bowling by Naved-ul Hassan, who bagged four wickets for 26 runs, and Shahid Nazid, who claimed 3 for 43, restricted the Superstars to 198 for 9.

Earlier, Superstars won the toss and elected to field. Badshahs opened with Imran Farhat [Images] and Imran Nazir [Images]. Both showed their aggressive intent right away, putting on 23 without loss by the end of the third over.

Nazir hit two big sixes over extra cover off Jesuraj to race off to a personal score of 33 off just 15 balls in the fourth over.

The fifty partnership between the two openers came off only 29 balls. But their 76-run stand finally came to an end in the eighth over when Nazir was run-out for 44 runs, off only 23 balls. It included four fours and an equal number of sixes.

At the half-way mark Badshahs were placed handsomely at 107 for 1. Farhat brought about his third ICL fifty, off 32 balls, in only the 12th over. He was finally out in the 14th after a magnificent 67 off 38 balls, which was studded with eight fours and three sixes.

Badshash were comfortably placed at 141 for 3. With two legendary batsmen in Inzamam-ul Haq and Mohammad Yousuf [Images] at the crease and five overs remaining, they were in sight of a huge total. Both provided a wonderful batting exhibition, adding 64 runs for the fourth wicket.
