Fast bowler Dale Steyn walked away with four major awards, including Cricketer of the Year, at Cricket South Africa's annual award ceremony.
Steyn, who played for the Bangalore Royal Challengers [Images] in the Indian Premier League [Images], won all four awards for which he was nominated.
He was also named Test Cricketer of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and the SuperSport Fans' Cricketer of the Year at the ceremony in Johannesburg on Tuesday night.
South Africa captain Graeme Smith [Images] was named One-Day International Cricketer of the Year while Albie Morkel was named International Pro20 Cricketer of the Year.
CSA spokesperson Michael Owen [Images] Smith said the yardstick was the standard of excellence they achieved on the world stage.
Steyn took 78 wickets in the 12 Tests South Africa played and was ranked number one bowler in the ICC [Images] Test rankings before finishing the season at No 2.
The SA Cricketer of the Year award has become the most prestigious reward of individual achievement in South African cricket and Steyn follows an impressive list of previous winners in Jacques Kallis [Images] (2004), Makhaya Ntini [Images] (2005 and 2006) and Shaun Pollock [Images] (2007).
