The start of the tri-series opening ODI between Bangladesh and Pakistan has been delayed due to a wet outfield.

Seasonal monsoons lashed Bangladesh captial Dhaka on Sunday morning.

The host association's scheduling of the series, a preparatory one for the teams ahead of the Asia Cup in Pakistan, at this time of the year also threatens to dampen the spirit of the cricket-crazy fans of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, the Indian team arrived here this morning and would be having their practice at the indoor facilities in Dhaka later on Sunday.

The side led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni [Images] takes on Pakistan in their first match on Tuesday and meets the hosts on June 12.

The final is slated for June 14.
