The hosts won the toss and opted to bat first but couldn't make good use of the conditions. Their first innings folded up for just 166, with Prashant Naik (40) contributing a majority of those runs. Ajit Agarkar [Images] chipped in with 32. Pradeep Sangwan and Ishaant Sharma were the most successful bowlers for the visitors, claiming three wickets each. Delhi were 159 for 4 at close of the day's play, needing just eight more runs to take a first innings lead. In-form Gautam Gambhir [Images] was unbeaten on 81 while Aavishkar Salvi chipped in with two wickets for the hosts.
