England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff will test his injured left ankle on Wednesday before deciding whether to play in the first Test against West Indies starting at Lord's on the following day."He didn't bowl today," team spokesman Andrew Walpole told reporters on Tuesday. "He will bowl tomorrow and we will assess his chances of playing then."
Flintoff, who has twice undergone operations on his ankle, reported some discomfort after playing for his county Lancashire against Hampshire on Saturday. He missed most of last year's English season because of an ankle problem.
Captain Michael Vaughan has already been ruled out of the match after breaking a finger.
