Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid remain the only Indians in the top 10 of the latest LG ICC Test rankings.
Kumble, who quit one-day cricket after the World Cup, is third in the bowlers' table, behind Muttiah Muralitharan and Makhaya Ntini, while Dravid ranks eighth in the batsmen's charts.
India remains fourth in the team championship ladder.
India, in fact, has no other batsman in the top 20, while Irfan Pathan, is ranked 16th among bowlers.
The left-arm bowler, dropped from both the Test and ODI squads for the ongoing Bangladesh tour, has hung on to a place among the top five all-rounders.
The ICC Players' rankings also gives an indication of the scale of the task facing the West Indies, currently ranked eighth, in its upcoming series against England, who are placed second.
Six members of the home side's squad occupy places in the top 30 batting places while the West Indies can boast of just two.
In the bowling list, England has four players in the top 30 while the West Indies squad has just a single representative.
The ICC Test Championship table is headed by Australia, 21 points clear of England, with Pakistan third and India in fourth position.
Sri Lanka find themselves at fifth spot ahead of South Africa while New Zealand are seventh.
Bangladesh, who will take on India in a two-Test series shortly, are placed 10th.
