England's former assistant coach Matthew Maynard, now replaced by Andy Flower, is considering an offer from the Board of Control for Cricket in India to work at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

"I've been asked to go out to India to work with their academy, and I'm sure there will be one or two more offers coming in," Maynard told BBC Wales Sport.

"But I'm just going to take my time, I don't want to rush into anything,"  he added.

Incidentally, BCCI has offered a consultant's post to former Team India coach Greg Chappell, who is also yet to make up his mind.

After Duncan Fletcher quit the England coach's post, new coach Peter Moores brought in former Zimbabwe batsman Flower, who hastily retired from playing for English county side Essex to take up the new job.

Maynard has worked as Fletcher's deputy since May 2005 and his contract was until the end of summer.

Maynard said he had expected a premature end to his contract.

"Whenever you get a new coach in, he tends to bring people he's familiar with to work with," said Maynard.

"To be honest, as soon as Duncan announced his retirement, I pretty much thought that was going to be the end for me as well.

"There could've been other jobs with the Board, but I'm happy this way. I've had a pretty tough winter so it'll be nice to sort this summer out and spend some time with the family," he added.
