Taylor, Bishop on ICC committee

Former Test stars Mark Taylor of Austalia and Ian Bishop of the West Indies have been inducted in the revised ICC Cricket Committee, headed by Sunil Gavaskar.

Gavaskar has been reappointed chairman of the influencial committee which also has Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara and Tim May of the International Federation for Cricketers as representatives of the current players.

The influential cricket committee was revised this month at the ICC executive board meeting held in Cape Town, South Africa to make it more effective and productive.

The other members of the committee include Australian umpire Simon Taufel (umpires representative), Michael Holding (media), Ranjan Madugalle (referees), David Kendix (statisticians), Craig Wright (associate members), Keith Bradshaw (MCC) and Saleem Altaf (representative of member boards).
