The 23-year-old, who is in England playing as the resident professional for the Millom Cricket Club, is on police bail but has not been charged.
Deonarine is a left-handed batsman who bowls a right-arm off break. He came into the West Indies squad after contract disputes saw seven players left out of the South African Test of March 2005.
He has played four Tests and as many one-day internationals.
Deonarine's claim to fame came on August 13 last year at the Stanford Twenty20 finals which saw Guyana play Trinidad in a classic million-dollar match. He hit the winning six with two bowls remaining and was rewarded with the Player of the Match award, and a hefty cheque of 25,000 dollars.
