Karnataka skipper Yere Goud cracked an unbeaten 171 to help his team pile up a mammoth 570 on the second day of their four-day Elite Division Ranji Trophy cricket match against Saurashtra in Rajkot on Thursday.

In reply, the hosts began their innings in style scoring 103 without loss at the draw of stumps.

The visitors, resuming at 329 for four, lost overnight batsman Thilak Naidu 39 (89b, 6x4) early, but Goud, who was batting on 38, continued to dominate Saurashtra bowlers.

B Akhil and Sunil Joshi failed to last long, but Goud completed his century off 263 balls with fourteen hits to the fence in company of Raju Bhatkal 42 (67b,3x4, 2x6).

Vinay Kumar could not open his account and was run out, but Goud and last man, Udit Patel frustrated the hosts by putting up 112 runs for the last wicket off 142 balls.

The partnership came to an end when Patel 35 (52b, 3x4, 1x6) was caught brilliantly by F Bambhania at mid on.

Goud, who spent 398 minutes at crease, faced 336 balls and hit 20 fours and one six to remain undefeated on 171.

For the hosts, Kamlesh Makwana bagged three wickets conceding 192 runs, while Sitanshu Kotak and Sandip Maniar shared two wickets each.

Saurashtra openers started confidently with Sagar Jogiyani 62 (56b, 10x4, 1x6) and Kanaiya Vaghela 32 (86b,4x4) adding 103 runs without being separated.
