Indian cricket team captain Rahul Dravid turned 34 on Thursday.
Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Niranjan Shah wished Dravid, who is currently playing for Karnataka in a Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra at Rajkot, and handed over a bouquet of flowers near the team's dressing room.
"A party has been organised at the hotel by the Saurashtra Cricket Association in the evening to celebrate Dravid's birthday," Vikas Ghelot, manager at the Grand Regency Hotel, where the Karnataka team is put up, told PTI.
"The team will have an eight kg cake for Dravid at the stadium in the afternoon. This cake is for Dravid from the hotel staff and management," Ghelot added.
Dravid, who battled poor form during the recent South African tour, cracked a half-century during the Ranji match on Wednesday. He made 56 runs in 71 balls.
In his over 10-year-long career, Dravid, in 107 Tests, has scored 9174 runs at an average of 57.33.
Dravid has 9762 runs in 302 ODIs at an average of 39.68.
In October 2005, Dravid was made captain of the one-day side and later was handed the responsibility of the Test team.
