A fine all-round performance by Amit Mishra helped Haryana gain control of their Ranji Trophy Super League match against Saurashtra, in Rajkot on Wednesday.

Mishra played a valuable innings of 84 to help his team cross the 300-run mark and claimed two wickets when Surashtra batted.

Saurashtra were 134 for 5 at close on Day 2 in reply to Haryana's first innings of 308, needing another 25 to avoid the follow-on.

Feroz Bambhania (19) and Ravindra Jadeja (20) were at the crease at stumps.

Jadeja hit four fours in the last over of the day bowled by Amit Mishra.

Mishra, the top scorer in Haryana's first innings, struck twice to send back Sitanshu Kotak (89) and Sagar Jogiyani (9).

Pacemen Joginder Sharma and Sanjay Badhwar shared a wicket each in their opening spells.

Earlier, Sandip Singh and Amit Mishra put on 132 runs partnership for the eighth wicket to frustrate the host team's bowlers. Singh was dismissed for 58.

Mishra then shared a short partnership of 23 runs with Gaurav Vashistha (19 not out), before being dismissed by Rakesh Dhruve.
