The Supreme Court on Friday restrained the Prasar Bharti from interfering with the telecast of the tri-series cricket in Sri Lanka [Images] involving India, the US Open tennis championships, the World Cup hockey [Images] for men and women, and the Champions Trophy hockey, the exclusive telecast rights of which is with the Dubai-based Ten Sports.
A Bench, comprising Justice Ashok Bhan and Justice Markandey Katju, also directed Prasar Bharti not to take any coercive steps against the private television channel to bag the telecast of these events.
