Pakistan all rounder Shoaib Malik [Images] was banned for one Test on Monday after he admitted fixing a domestic limited overs' match last week.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said Malik had also been fined 75 percent of his match fees from the first two international limited overs' match in West Indies [Images] this month.

Malik, who has played eight Tests and 99 one-day internationals, appeared on Saturday before an inquiry commission convened after his admission that he had purposely thrown the game while leading the local Sialkot Stallions against Karachi Zebras.

Malik later made a public apology and also admitted his mistake before the inquiry commission, saying that he had acted out of frustration to eliminate rivals Lahore [Images] Eagles from the competition.

"The ad-hoc committee members took serious notice of Malik's behaviour, but decided to go by the recommendations of the inquiry committee," PCB spokesman Abbas Zaidi said. "It also took his past record into consideration."

Zaidi said Malik was warned that a close watch would be kept on his behaviour.

Malik did not play a Test on the recent tour of India but featured in all six one-day internationals.
