England [Images] player Garaint Jones has been cleared of charges for breach of ICC [Images] Code of Conduct after a hearing relating to an incident that occurred during his country's second Test against Bangladesh in Durham.

"Jones was found not guilty of conduct that brings the game into disrepute by ICC Match Referee Alan Hurst after a post-match hearing in Durham on Sunday," the International Cricket Council said in a statement.

The incident, related to the dismissal of Nafees Iqbal, when it was alleged that Jones took "the ball on the bounce".

The Match Referee conducted a hearing and, after considering the footage, concluded that their was no clear evidence that the player had done anything intentionally to be booked under Rule C2, Level 1 of the ICC Code which relates to conduct that brings the game into disrepute.

"On the evidence presented, the actions of the player did not breach the ICC Code of Conduct. Video evidence of the incident was inconclusive, and the player's intent was not proven," Hurst was quoted as saying in the statement.

All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player's match fee.

The charge was brought by manager of the Bangladesh cricket team Latif Khan. Hurst reached his conclusion after a hearing attended by Latif Khan, Dav Whatmore, Nafees Iqbal, Duncan Fletcher and Geraint Jones.
