Heavy morning showers ruled out play without a ball being bowled on the fourth and final day of the Elite Group 'A' Ranji Trophy match between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in Chennai on Monday.

Play was abandoned yesterday also without a ball being bowled.

Both the teams collected one point each in the rain-hit match in which a total of 22.2 overs were bowled by Karnataka, with Tamil Nadu scoring 80 for no loss.

The hosts now have five points from three matches while Karnataka have three points from the same number of matches.

Tamil Nadu now play their next match against Maharashtra in Nasik, while Karnataka take on Bengal at Mysore. Both matches begin on December 17.
