West Indies name 13-man squad

The West Indies Cricket Board has announced a 13-man squad for the first Test against England at Sabina Park, Jamaica, starting on Thursday.

The side will be captained by Brian Lara, with Ramnaresh Sarwan serving as his vice captain, the board confirmed on their official website on Monday.

Reserve wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh, spinner Dave Mohammed and uncapped pace bowler Dwight Washington, who were in the original 16-man training squad, were not selected.

West Indies will play four Tests and seven one-day internationals against England, who tour until May 7, before meeting Bangladesh in two Tests between May 28 and June 8.

Squad: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Tino Best, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Corey Collymore, Fidel Edwards, Chris Gayle, Ryan Hinds, Ridley Jacobs, Ricardo Powell, Adam Sanford, Devon Smith and Dwayne Smith.
