India's total of 705-7 was their highest ever in a Test, eclipsing the 676-7 they made against Sri Lanka at Kanpur in 1986-87, and Sachin Tendulkar's (left) 241 not out was the second highest score by an Indian in Tests, behind V V S Laxman's 281 against Australia at Calcutta in 2001.
