The Indian cricket board's Inquiry Commissioner D V Subba Rao said that he has asked Sanjay Jagdale, national cricket selector from the central zone, to depose before the Commission which began its hearing into the bribery allegations against Maharashtra cricketer Abhijit Kale.

"I have asked Jagdale to come as the two selectors Kiran More (west) and Pranab Roy (east), who made the allegations against Kale, wrote to the Commission that they had discussed the bribe offer made by Kale with Jadgale," Rao told a horde of waiting reporters at Hotel Taj Residency where the much awaited hearing began at 11.45 am.

Kale, who was allowed to play first class cricket by a Pune Civil Court yesterday revoking the suspension imposed by BCCI, arrived here this morning.

He, however, did not talk to the waiting media persons at the hotel.

Rao said More and Roy mentioned Jagdale's name when they provided details to the Commission about the alleged bribe offer made by Kale.

P R Narayanaswamy, BCCI's co-ordinator for the hearing said Jagdale has already arrived in the city. "The Commissioner said he will call him whenever necessary," he said.

BCCI selectors Roy and More alleged last week in a written complaint to the Board that Kale offered them Rs 10 lakh each for selection into the Indian team for the Australian tour.

The Board then suspended Kale and appointed Rao to probe into the matter.
