Akram the Great

His bowling was mysterious. One could never predict which way the ball would swing. And he had an extensive armoury. From the well-disguised slower ball to the toe-crushing yorker, Wasim Akram practised every nuance of the art of fast bowling.

From the moment Akram stepped on to the international cricket field as an 18-year-old rookie, he looked as if he belonged.

On May 18, the Pakistani speedster finally announced his retirement from international cricket. We take a trip down memory lane, tracing the highs and lows of his 19-year-long career.
