December 02, 2003 21:50 IST

A fine century by Amol Mazumdar (115) was the highlight on day 2 of the Ranji Trophy Elite group match as defending champions Mumbai scored 504 for six declared against Andhra Pradesh in Vijaywada on Tuesday.

In reply, Andhra were 15 for no loss, with M Suresh (6) and captain M S K Prasad (9) at the crease at close of play.

Earlier, resuming at 236 for 3, Muzumdar and Vinod Kambli (86) piled on the misery for the Andhra bowlers and added 133 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter was brilliantly run-out by Fiaz Ahmed.

Mazumdar, who hit eight boundaries in his knock, then added 46 runs with skipper Sairaj Bahutule (21) and 70 runs with Robbin Morris to help his team declare an hour before close.
