Australia are undisputed masters

What is one to make of this Australian cricket team? Just when one thinks that they have peaked, they effortlessly climb on to an even higher peak!
What one finds most remarkable is how easily Australia demolish the highest rated rivals. Looking at the Rediff ratings it is clear that South Africa and Pakistan (although one mustn't forget Sri Lanka, and the resurgent Indians) should pose Australia the greatest difficulty. What we are seeing, however, is that Australia are demolishing these strong adversaries with a ferocity which is awesome. The better the opponent, the better Australia seem to play.
The current (as on Sep 9, 2002) scorecard, after the PSO Tri-Nation Tournament in Kenya, for the major ODI playing teams is shown in Table A.

Recall that Kenya and Bangladesh do not figure in the Rediff ratings. So we have not taken into account the results of Kenya's matches with Pakistan and Australia. We now await the ICC Champions Trophy which opens later this week.
