Bangar in one-day squad
for Windies series

Sanjay Bangar has been included in the 14-member Indian squad for the first three one-day internationals against the West Indies. He replaces the injured Zaheer Khan.

Bangar is the only change in the 15-member one-day team that played the Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka, with left- hander Dinesh Mongia being kept out.

The team for the first three ODIs in the seven-match series, beginning on November 6, was announced by Board of Control for Cricket in Indian secretary S K Nair, following a meeting of the five-member selection committee, which was also attended by skipper Sourav Ganguly and coach John Wright.

"Since Zaheer Khan has been advised rest following his knee injury in the second Test he was not considered for selection," Nair said, adding, "most probably he will miss the series if he is not fit by the next selection committee meeting."

The team for the last four one-dayers of the series would be named in Rajkot after the third one-day match.

The team: Sourav Ganguly (capt), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, V V S Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Ashish Nehra, Ajit Agarkar, J P Yadav and Sanjay Bangar.
