Kumble, Srinath for NZ ODI series

Leg-spinner Anil Kumble and veteran speedster Javagal Srinath have been included in the 14-member Indian squad for the seven-match one-day series against New Zealand, starting on December 26.

Two additional players, who will be named after the completion of the second Test, beginning on Thursday, will join the team later, Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary S K Nair said on Wednesday while announcing the team.

The team: Sourav Ganguly (capt), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Sanjay Bangar, Zaheer Khan, Javagal Srinath, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, V V S Laxman, Parthiv Patel, Ajit Agarkar.

The selection committee, which met in Kolkata on Wednesday for four hours, also announced 16 other names who will join the 14 in the squad for the New Zealand series to form India's 30-member provisional team for the World Cup in South Africa next year.

The World Cup probables (in addition to the squad named for the New Zealand one-dayers): Tinu Yohannan, Rakesh Patel, Dinesh Mongia, Gautam Gambhir, Sarandeep Singh, Murali Kartik, Ashish Nehra, J P Yadav, L Balaji, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, Deep Dasgupta, Irfan Pathan, Rohan Gavaskar, Avishkar Salvi, Venkatesh Prasad, Sairaj Bahutule.
