Tendulkar slams 30th
Test century
Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar completed his 30th Test century and went past Sir Donald Bradman's tally of 29 centuries as India strengthened their grip on the third Test against England on Friday.
He reached the landmark with an on-drive for four off left-arm spinner Ashley Giles before punching the air with his bat. It was also his first first-class hundred at Headingley, where he played for Yorkshire 10 years ago.
Earlier, Tendulkar, on reaching 74, moved up to seventh in the all-time list of Test run scorers, overtaking Englishman David Gower's aggregate of 8,231 runs.
His century took just short of four hours and included 13 fours.
