Srinath not among probables for ICC Knockout Championship

The Indian cricket selectors on Friday made it clear that there is no place, at least as of now, for fast-medium bowler Javagal Srinath in the one-day international squad when they did not include him even in the list of 20 probables for the 12-nation ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place in September in Sri Lanka.
The complete list announced after a meeting of the selection committee chaired by Chandrakant Borde at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday morning is as follows:

The final squad of 14 will be announced on August 12.
Asked about Srinath's exclusion from the list of probables, Niranjan Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and convener of the selection committee, said the selectors did not feel the need for him in the one-day squad at this stage.
