England leg-spinner GTS (Greville) Stevens (10 Tests from 1922 to 1930) died aged 69.

Bangladesh's Test captain Naimur Rahman was born.
1982:
Indian born New Zealand all-rounder Ted Badcock (7 Tests from 1929 to
1933) died aged in Australia aged 85.

After 27 minutes of confusion concerning regulations governing the number of overs to be bowled on the final day of the Bangalore Test, India's Sunil Gavaskar (then on 87) was allowed to continue his innings after the
Pakistan had initially left the field. He duly completed his 28th Test
hundred off the first ball of the last of the mandatory 20 overs.
1986:
A dehydrated Dean Jones scored career best 210 for Australia against India at Madras.
1995:
Sri Lanka becomes the first team from the sub-continent to win a Test in Pakistan, when it won the Faisalabad Test by 42 runs.
1997:
Indian left-handed batsman Ambar Roy (4 Tests in 1949) died aged 52.

New Zealand's Stephen Fleming became the fifth fielder to hold five
catches in a Test innings - against Zimbabwe at Harare.

Indian batsman Ramesh Saxena (1 Test in 1967) was born.
1951:
New Zealand left-arm spinner Stephen Boock (30 Tests from 1978 to
1989; 74 wickets) was born.
1963:
Pakistani keeper Anil Dalpat Sonavaria (9 Tests from 1984 to 1985) was
born. He was the first "Hindu" to appear in Tests for Pakistan.

Pakistani batsman Ijaz Ahmed from 1987 in over 50 Tests and over 3000 runs was born.

Sri Lankan all-rounder Thilan Samaraweera was born.

Duleep Mendis scores 105 in each innings against India at Madras to
become the first Sri Lankan to record hundreds in each innings of a Test
match.
1986:
The Madras Test between India and Australia ends in tie - the only
second such result in Test history.
1997:
Set to score 403 runs in a minimum of 110 overs, New Zealand made 304-8 to draw the Harare Test match against Zimbabwe.
1999:
Glenn McGrath became the fourth Australian bowler to take a wicket off
the very first ball of a Test match when he had Jayasuriya caught slips at
Galle. Jayasuriya incidentally became the first Sri Lankan batsman to be
dismissed "first-ball".
2000:
Zimbabwe's part-time bowler Grant Flower was no-balled for throwing by
Australian umpire Darrell Hair on the last day of the Bulawayo Test match
against New Zealand. Flower was withdrawn from the attack.
