Pakistan will host next Asia Cup

The next edition of the Asia Cup limited overs cricket tournament will be held in Pakistan next year though the specific month will be decided after ascertaining the international calendar of the participating countries.

"Pakistan will host the next Asia Cup but the fixtures will be announced later," Jagmohan Dalmiya, chairman of the Asian Cricket Foundation, which implements the Asian Cricket Council's programmes, told a press conference in Calcutta on Wednesday.

Releasing the ACC's fixtures for senior and junior tournaments, Dalmiya said they were finalised after discussions with the representatives of all the four Test-playing nations at the recent Lahore meet

Dalmiya said the second edition of the Asian Test championship will be held September to February 2002 with Dhaka's National stadium again hosting the final.

Dalmiya also released the fixtures of ACC's under-19, under-17 and under-15 tournaments. ACC has decided to hold at least two junior tournaments every year.

Singapore has been selected as the venue for the ACC trophy in the year 2002 while either Malaysia or Hong Kong will host it in the year 2004.
