Pakistan seek replacement for Pybus

Pakistan are seeking a new foreign coach, with several names still under consideration, the Pakistan Cricket Board said on Thursday.

"A few names are under consideration and the board is in contact with these individuals," PCB director Munawwar Rana said from Lahore. "We are talking with four to five individuals."

Pakistan began their search for a new coach after South African Richard Pybus opted not to sign a new deal following the recent tour of England.

Pybus had been awarded a short-term contract shortly before the tour to replace former captain Javed Miandad, who was sacked in April.

"A final decision has not been made yet...it will not be that quick it would take at least a week or 10 days," Rana said, adding that the board was only talking to foreign candidates.

Pakistan have changed coaches nine times in the last four years.

Pybus, the only foreigner to coach the team, helped Pakistan reach the 1999 World Cup final in England but was sacked after just three months in his first spell in the job.
