Hearing on Prabhakar's bail plea adjourned till Jul 13
A Nainital court on Friday adjourned hearing on the bail plea of former Test cricketer Manoj
Prabhakar till July 13 in the chit fund case, a top police official said.
District Judge, Nainital, S C Tewari passed the order
on a petition moved by Prabhakar's counsel after the former cricketer's bail plea was rejected by the Nainital and
Haldwani courts on Thursday.
DIG, Nainital, Vijay Raghav Pant informed over phone that the Uttaranchal police would urge the court to extend the 14-day judicial remand of Prabhakar till the court hears the arguments on July 13.
Prabhakar suffered a double blow on Thursday when the Nainital Munsif Magistrate and Haldwani Judicial Magistrate rejected his bail plea.
Meanwhile, the condition of Prabhakar, who was admitted
to a private nursing home on Tuesday following suspected
brain stroke, was stated to be 'stable'.
There is considerable improvement in his health,
doctors said, adding, a team from the Indore police returned after questioning
Prabhakar last night.
