Much to learn in fielding and shot selection: Wright
Indian cricket coach John Wright on Saturday said that his boys have a lot to learn in fielding and shot selection according to nature of the pitch to improve their performance.
"Certain shots are played by Indian cricketers happily here (home pitches), but on other wickets they have to be careful. This scenario needs improvement," Wright told reporters during the Indian team's practice session in Mohali ahead of the first Test against England starting on Monday.
"The players also have to learn more in the area of fielding and running between the wickets," he said.
Terming the South African series as 'tough', Wright said the tour gave the players a good exposure.
He said that wicket in Mohali is good a track though not as green as the strips in South Africa.
Skipper Sourav Ganguly, who did not arrive with the team, will be in Mohali on Sunday, the coach said.
