Langer, Lehmann named Wisden players of 2000

Australia's Darren Lehmann and Justin Langer are among Wisden's five cricketers of 2000.

England paceman Andy Caddick, Gloucestershire captain Mark Alleyne and Surrey fast bowler Martin Bicknell were also nominated, Wisden said in its 2001 edition.

Cricket's 'Bible' said Langer was selected after scoring 1,003 runs in Australia's 13 Tests in the 1999-2000 season which included four centuries.

Lehmann was English county cricket's top scorer, hitting 1,477 runs at an average of 67.13 for Yorkshire last season.

Caddick earned his nomination for his performances for England in South Africa, where he took 16 Test wickets, and against West Indies last summer - 22 Test wickets at 19.18.

Gloucestershire won three one-day trophies last season under Alleyne while Bicknell took 60 wickets in the first division as Surrey won the title.
