The annual IT Best Employers Survey 2011 finds out the best IT companies to work for in India.
The survey consists of two parts: HR round and employee satisfaction. In the HR round, companies are given scores based on their HR practices.
The final score is a combination of HR score (20 per cent weightage) and employee satisfaction or E-SAT score (80 per cent weightage). Companies have started hiring as business environment improved in FY 2010-11, finds the survey.This led to a significant jump in attrition, from 13 per cent in 2009-10 to 19 per cent this year (2010-11), one of the biggest jumps recorded in one year over two decades.
Here's a look at the top 20 IT employers according to a survey by Dataquest, in association with CyberMedia Research (CMR):
1. HCL Infosystems
HCL Infosystems has emerged as the best employer among IT companies in India. HCL Infosys' 'Employee First' philosophy along with other highly rated parameters like work culture, appraisals, job content, salary, training and managing slowdown won it the numero uno position, says the survey.Leadership change at the top and middle level in sync with employee engagement initiatives like Empowered People Action Teams (EPATs) infused higher levels of energy across the organisation.
HCL Infosystems, the flagship company of the HCL enterprise has a turnover of Rs 12,137 crore ($2.6 billion) today.

2. Rolta India
Rolta India's employee friendly HR policies have finally paid dividend this year.

SAP Labs India has made a surprising entry in Dataquest--CyberMedia Research's Best Employers survey.

5. Tavant Technologies
Tavant Technologies took the biggest jump in the survey from No. 11 in 2009-10 to No. 5 in 2010-11.
High employee satisfaction score owing to initiatives like MTeam, Tavanat Rookie Induction Program (TRIP) and intelligent use of social networking, has not only compensated for low its HR score but also for its ambiguous appraisal system and training and development parameter.
Its employees continually interact to provide a superior outsourcing experience to customers.
6. Mahindra Satyam
A part of the $12.5 billion Mahindra Group, Mahindra Satyam performed well on HR measures and employee satisfaction.

7. Tulip Telecom
Tulip Telecom is India's leading enterprise communications service provider.
The company's data network has the largest reach of over 2,000 locations globally. With over 3,350 employees and more than 2,200 customers, it has a global presence.
Tulip designs, implements and manages communication networks of large enterprises on long term contracts to include enterprise communications connectivity, network integration, managed and value added services.
8. Capgemini India
Capgemini India scored high on human resources. Capgemini won the award for operational excellence and quality in BPO, and award for innovation in recruitment at the 2nd Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards 2011.
Capgemini India is a division of Capgemini which is a premier consulting, technology, and outsourcing company, headquartered in Paris, with an employee count of 75,000 and operations in more than 30 countries.
9. Virtusa India
A culture of providing opportunities for fast track growth for employees has enhanced its value.
Virtusa says it has a rich engineering heritage, strong values and a people oriented culture.
Virtusa Corporation is a global information technology (IT) services company providing IT consulting, technology and outsourcing services.

10. Nagarro Software
Nagarro specialises in high-quality business-critical software and IT projects for major corporations.
Headquartered in the US, it has subsidiaries in India, Germany, Sweden and Mexico, and sales offices in the UK and Denmark.

11. Synechron Technologies

12. L&T Infotech
