While companies are laying off employees across the board around the world, there are some that have never sacked a single staff in their whole history.

Let's take a look at some of these companies listed by CNN Money.

Wegmans Food Markets

It is a family-owned US regional supermarket chain headquartered in Gates, New York, near Rochester. Wegmans has over 75 stores in the mid-Atlantic region, in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts.

Founded in 1916 in Rochester, Wegmans has appeared on Fortune's annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list since its inception in 1998, and has ranked among the top 10 for eight consecutive years.

The Container Store

It is a specialty retail chain that sells storage solutions for home and office. On July 1, 1978, The Container Store opened its doors in a small, 1,600-square-foot retail space in Dallas. Kip Tindell (Chairman and CEO), Garrett Boone (Chairman Emeritus), and Architect John Mullen opened a retail store offering a mix of products devoted to helping people simplify their lives.

In doing so, they originated a new category of retailing, that of storage and organisation.

Nugget Markets is a family-owned upscale supermarket chain operating within the greater Sacramento metropolitan area. It is headquartered in Woodland, California.

As of October 2009, the company operated nine of its flagship Nugget-brand stores, as well as three Food 4 Less franchises.

St Jude's Children's Research Hospital

Founded in 1962, it is a paediatric treatment and research facility focused on children's catastrophic diseases. It is located in Memphis, Tennessee, and is a non-profit medical corporation chartered as a tax-exempt organisation under tax regulations.

Baptist Health South Florida

Baptist Hospital of Miami is a non-profit hospital located in Miami, Florida, United States operated by Baptist Health South Florida.

Founded in 1960, the 650 bed facility is now one of the largest hospitals in the Miami area. The Corporate headquarters is located in Coral Gables, Florida, and has facilities throughout Miami-Dade County, into the Florida Keys, and in southern Broward County.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

It is a not-for-profit healthcare organisation formed in 1998 when Egleston Children's Health Care System and Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center merged.

Both hospitals maintained their original locations, but the merger brought together Egleston's teaching and research strengths with Scottish Rite's successful private-practice model.

QuikTrip is a Tulsa-based chain of convenience stores primarily found in the Midwestern and Southern United States.

The first QuikTrip was opened in 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Chester Cadieux and Burt B Holmes. QuikTrip promotes its petrol as "high-quality" through guaranteeing it.

In 2005, QuikTrip and Chevron were the first two retailers to earn a "Top Tier" rating from General Motors, BMW, Honda, Volkswagen, Audi, and Toyota.
