Last year was tough for auto industry as the sales dwindle. Car makers had to push the envelope to attract buyers.
There were face-lifted cars that packed more features and were available nearly at the same price as their earlier avatars.
Some targeted segments that were unserved. Mahindra and Renault came up with their sport utility vehicles (SUVs) XUV 500 and Duster respectively that fit perfectly between entry-level utility vehicles and premium SUVs.
To know the cars that caught the fancy of buyers and enthusiasts, CarDekho asked its visitors to vote for their favourite machines in 10 different categories including hatchbacks, sedans, multi utility vehicles, sports utility vehicles, luxury cars and even the best manufacturer.
A total of 329,434 visitors casted their votes to select the winners in each category. Here are the cars selected by enthusiasts and owners.
