Maruti Suzuki sales up 20% in June
Maruti Suzuki on Monday reported 20.30 per cent jump in total sales at 96,597 units in June.
The company had sold 80,298 units in the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki India said in a statement.
In June, MSI recorded domestic sales at 83,531 units, compared to 70,020 units in the year-ago period, registering a rise of 19.30 per cent.
Similarly, MSI's exports went up 27.13 per cent to 13,066 units last month from 10,278 units in the year-ago period, the company said.

Sales of the company's mini-segment cars, including the M800, A-Star, Alto and WagonR, fell by 10.44 per cent to 34,198 units during the month from 38,183 units in June, 2011.
However, in the compact segment (comprising the Estilo, Swift and Ritz models), MSI witnessed a 39.32 per cent jump in sales to 22,624 units from 16,239 units in the same month a year ago.

MSI's mid-sized sedan SX4 sales slipped 42.78 per cent to 408 units last month from 713 units in June 2011.
Luxury sedan Kizashi witnessed 81.25 per cent fall in sales at 6 units as against 32 units in the year-ago month.

Bajaj bike sales down 1.38%
Two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a 1.38 per cent decrease in its motorcycle sales in June at 3,18,377 units.
The company had sold 3,22,827 units in the corresponding month last year, Bajaj Auto Ltd said.
BAL said exports also fell by 18.34 per cent during the month at 1,16,062 units compared to 1,42,124 units in June 2011.

Audi on Monday reported a 75.98 per cent jump in sales in India during June at 718 units.
In the year-ago period, the company had sold 408 cars, Audi India said in a statement.
"With the help of our robust consumer propositions, we are also confident of further boosting our sales despite the economic challenges like high fuel prices, inflation, reduction in retail loans and rupee devaluation," Audi India Head Michael Perschke said.
On the outlook, he said: "2012 is emerging as the most successful year in the history of the brand, worldwide.
"Given our outstanding performance in the first six months of the year, we are right on track to achieve the sales target of
8000 cars by year end and consolidating our position in the market again as the fastest growing luxury brand."

Car-maker Ford India on Monday reported a 21.20 per cent decline in total sales at 7,281 units in June.
The company had sold 9,228 units in the same month last year, Ford India said.
Ford's domestic sales declined by 10.91 per cent to 6,257 units in the reporting month from 7,023 units in the same month last year, it added.
Its overseas shipments fell by 53.56 per cent to 1,024 units in June this year from 2,205 units in the same month last year.
"While the market continues to face difficult challenges, we believe these are only cyclical and remain confident of the long term outlook of the Indian auto industry," Ford India president and managing director Michael Boneham said.

GM India June sales down 11 pc
General Motors India on Monday posted 10.65 per cent decline in its sales at 7,364 units in June.
The company had sold 8,242 units in the same month of 2011, General Motors India said.
"Overall market continues to remain sluggish. With market sentiments continuing to remain depressed, we are not expecting the market to show any remarkable improvement before the festival season," GM India vice-president P Balendran said.
Besides, orders of Tavera are pending due to supply constraints on account of workers strike at vendor's end, he added.
The company sold 614 units of small car Spark, 5,236 units of hatchback Beat, 181 units of entry-level sedan Aveo and 557 units of luxury sedan Cruze last month.
It also sold 741 units of multi-purpose vehicle Tavera during the month.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Monday reported a 3.49 per cent rise in its total sales at 54,354 units in June.
The company had sold 52,521 units in the same period last year, HMIL said.
In the domestic market, the company's sales increased marginally to 30,450 units from 30,402 units in the year-ago period, it added.
Exports of the company went up by 8.07 per cent to 23,904 units during the month under review from 22,119 units in the same period last year, the statement said.

Volkswagen on Monday posted a marginal decline in its sales in India at 5,371 units for June.
The company had sold 5,397 units in the corresponding period last year, Volkswagen said in a statement.
"In the face of the current economic conditions and slowdown in the industry, the Volkswagen Brand has put up good numbers in the month of June.
"We look forward for the sales to start reviving in the coming months," Volkswagen Group Sales India member of board and director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Neeraj Garg said.

Car-maker Skoda Auto India on Monday reported nearly two-fold increase in its sales for June at 4,923 units.
The company had sold 2,610 units in the same month last year, Skoda Auto India said in a statement.
"The Rapid has been the growth driver and is an important part of our success story," Skoda Auto India, Member of the
Board and director Thomas Kuehl said.
The value for money proposition that the Rapid offers in the segment has been crucial to the products acceptance.

Honda Siel Cars sales dip 22.81% in June
Honda Siel Cars India on Tuesday reported 22.81 per cent dip in its sales for June at 2,667 units.
The company, which is a joint venture between Japanese auto major Honda and the Siel Group, had sold 3,455 units in the same month last year, HSCI said in a statement.
"During June 2012, we deliberately held back whole-sales to avoid stock build-up at the dealerships.
"The consumer sentiment is quite low, as high petrol prices along with high borrowing costs have impacted the overall demand for cars," HSCI senior vice-president (sales and marketing) Jnaneswar Sen said.
"We hope that situation improves quickly and there is recovery in the market before the festival season," Sen added.
During the month, the company sold 1,253 units of its flagship sedan City and 609 units of its small car Brio.
It also sold 649 units of the premium hatchback Jazz and 58 units of sedan Civic.
Besides, HSCI sold 53 units of the premium sedan Accord and 45 units of sports utility vehicle CR-V in June 2012.
