Nissan Sunny, the new car in town

Nissan Sunny.

Nissan India has unveiled mid-sized premium sedan Nissan Sunny on Wednesday at an official function held at Hotel Taj in Bandra, Mumbai.

Prior to the unveiling there were speculations that Sunny could be named differently.

Nissan Sunny launch has been scheduled for this Diwali. The price is expected to remain around Rs 700,000 to Rs 900,000.

It was launched in 1966 as the Datsun 1000 and although production in Japan ended in 2004, it remains in production for the African, American markets and Sri Lanka.

In the US, the later models were known as the Nissan Sentra; in Mexico, the Sunny is known as the Nissan Tsuru.
