BMW loyals, hold your breath, for the much awaited BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) is finally here! Launched on November 22, 2012, the ultra-stylish facelifted version of its much popular luxury SUV X6 comes with a price-tag of Rs 78.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the xDrive40d diesel.
On the other hand, the petrol variant of BMW's latest offering in the domestic market, i.e. xDrive50i, will cost Rs 93.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The official prices of the two variants turned out to be pretty much what the market had predicted.

The reworked X6 features a higher stance, i.e. a ground clearance of 212mm, and a stylish waistline that underlines the SAC's superiority on any uncertain terrain. And the car's interiors are as impressive as its exteriors.
Flanked by several changes, the plush cabin brags about the addition of carbon fibre inserts to the dashboard and door trims.
Other than that, the X6's interiors have been decked up with all-new leather upholstery in addition to the updated iDrive system.

Other relevant specs include a rain sensor, an electric glass roof with sliding and raising function, park distance control at both, front and rear, and a rear view camera with topview.
As for the interiors, both the variants feature a mechanical roller sunblind for rear side windows, electrically adjustable seats for the driver and the front passenger, sports leather steering wheel with multifunction and gearshift paddles.
And while the xDrive50i features automatic air-conditioning with four-zone control, the xDrive40d features the same but with just two-zone control.

And in the name of entertainment and communication, the 2013 BMW X6 also gets the BMW Navigation system Professional, HiFi system Professional, which includes 16 loudspeakers, the updated iDrive system, and a music interface for smartphones among other things.
Moving on to the under-the-hood specs and other mechanical changes, there is not much to be mentioned since the engines are the same as that of the old BMW X6. The xDrive50i is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol mill that churns out about 407bhp of power and 600 Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the xDrive40d sports a 3.0-litre V6 BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engine that delivers a power output of 306bhp and and 600 Nm worth of maximum torque.
Both the engines have been mated to an 8-speed sport automatic transmission.

And while the petrol version is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100kmph in about 5.4 seconds, the diesel model takes about 6.5 seconds to achieve the same.
Also, the German auto giant claims that while petrol variant can deliver a mileage of 8 kmpl, the diesel variant promises a mileage of 13.33kmpl.
However, the inclusion of an optional M Package will help better the car's performance in terms of power output.

Furthermore, the company has spruced up both the variants of the 2013 BMW X6 by adding dynamic performance control, hill descent control, parking brake with auto-hold function, servo-tronic steering, and xDrive --- an intelligent 4WD system with variable torque split.
