The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today reported 12.45 per cent increase in its total sales at 1,03,200 units in November.
The company had sold 91,772 units in the same month last year, the company said in a statement.
In November, MSI recorded domestic sales of 90,882 units compared to 82,870 units in the year-ago period, registering a rise of 9.67 per cent, it added.
MSI's exports went up by 38.37 per cent to 12,318 units last month from 8,902 units in the year-ago period, it said.
Total passenger car sales in the domestic market rose by 2.35 per cent to 74,793 units from 73,078 units in the same month of 2011.
However, sales of the company's mini-segment cars, including M800, A-Star, Alto and WagonR, fell by 5.76 per cent to 36,679 units during the month from 38,921 units in November last year.
In the compact segment (comprising the Estilo, Swift and Ritz models, MSI witnessed a rise of 7.63 per cent in sales to 23,849 units from 22,159 units in the same month a year ago.
Sales of MSI's DZiRE model increased by 29.79 per cent to 13,502 units in November from 10,403 units in the same month last year, it said.
MSI's mid-sized sedan SX4 sales, however, dipped by 51.71 per cent to 692 units last month from 1,433 units in November 2011.
Luxury sedan Kizashi witnessed a drop of 56.17 per cent in sales at 71 units as against 162 units in the year-ago period.
