Nissan Micra has fared well in the Indian market with its cute looks and roomy interiors and with the 2013 version, the hatch has gone bolder, more aggressive and attractive than it ever was.

Engine and Performance

All the aforementioned hatchbacks are available with petrol and diesel engines. The Hyundai Grand i10 petrol is powered by a 1.2 litre Kappa engine that comes with dual VTVT.

This engine hauls out 78.9bhp power and 111.8Nm torque. Also an all-new, 1.1-litre, three-cylinder U2 VGT diesel motor.

Petrol Swift comes loaded with a 1.2-litre K-series motor which uses VTT to offer 85.8bhp and 114 Nm. The diesel-powered Swift is loaded with DDiS engine that produces power of 74bhp at 4000rpm and torque of 190Nm.

Nissan Micra holds 1.2-litre DOHC Petrol engine that gives out 75bhp @ 6000rpm whereas the Diesel version comes powered with a new 4-cylinder 1461cc power plant that produces 63.1bhp @ 4000rpm.

Hyundai i10 slightly scores more in terms of features, quality, variant range and with comparatively less waiting period but when it comes to pricing and after sales services, it does not give a better deal.
