Honda Cars India launched the Mobilio in the capital with prices starting at Rs 6.49 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi. The variant-wise prices can be found below.

Honda Mobilio S: Rs 7.5 lakh
Honda Mobilio V: Rs 8.76 lakh

The company’s closest competitor, Maruti Ertiga is priced between Rs 5.8 lakh and Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The petrol variants retail between Rs 5.8 lakh and Rs 7.3 lakh while the diesel versions are priced between Rs 7.22 lakh and Rs 8.49 lakh.

The Mobilio petrol is powered by the City’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC producing 119 PS (117.32 bhp) and 145 Nm of torque, and gets a 5-speed manual transmission. The ARAI rated efficiency of the Mobilio petrol stands at 17.3 kmpl.
The diesel model is powered by the 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC motor making 100 PS (98.59 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque, and it also gets a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel variant claims to deliver 24.2 kmpl.

The three-row 7-seater will compete with the likes of the Maruti Ertiga, Nissan Evalia and Chevrolet Enjoy, not to mention the Toyota Innova.
Based on the Brio’s platform, the Mobilio was first shown at the IIMS last year in Indonesia. India is the second market to get the Mobilio after Indonesia.

Here is a gist of features in each variant. The E grade gets 2nd and 3rd row reclining seats, AC, power steering and a tilt adjustable steering.

The top-end V gets dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, alloy wheels, rear wiper and washer, foglights, two-tone interior and second row sliding seats.

Honda started the pre-launch bookings for the Mobilio on July 8, and as of July 23, the company has received more than 5,800 bookings, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President for Marketing and Sales, told Indian Autos Blog.
The delivery of the multi purpose vehicle has started immediately.
The company expects to deliver the already booked Mobilios by the end of next month. Mr. Sen said that 60 pe rcent of sales for the Mobilio will come from Tier II and Tier III cities.

The Honda Mobilio RS is the sportier variant of Honda India’s first MPV. At the launch of the Mobilio, Honda India said that deliveries of the Mobilio RS will commence only from September this year.
Deliveries of the regular Mobilio though will start from Wednesday.
The Mobilio RS is priced at Rs 10.86 lakh, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.

On the outside, the RS gets new headlights with LED position lights and projector headlights, a dual-slat chrome grille, aggressively designed bumpers, side skirts, roof spoiler and different 15-inch alloy wheels.
The Mobilio RS will be available only on the diesel variant. The engine specifications of the RS are unchanged though. The 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-DTEC motor makes 100 PS (98.59 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque, and it gets a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel variant has an ARAI rated efficiency of 24.2 kmpl.

Honda officials told Indian Autos Blog earlier that the RS kit is not a dealer-level accessory, but it is in fact fitted to the car at the Greater Noida plant where the regular Mobilio is manufactured.
The RS doesn’t have competitors in India, though it can be compared with the sportier Chevrolet Spin Activ and the Ertiga Sporty in Indonesia.
