Government has been increasing diesel prices regularly by Rs 0.5. With petrol and diesel prices mounting up frequently, buyers get caught in the old debate of petrol vs diesel cars.

Petrol engines development has progressed well over the years and many of the current cars in India give a good mileage. Though they have to yet catch up with the fuel efficiency of diesel cars.

Buyers prefer petrol for the powerful engine that lasts longer compared to diesel, and also because petrol cars are much cheaper.

Hyundai Santro Xing

Swift Dzire is packed with the same engine as Maruti Swift hatchback as it is also shares Swift’s platform. But Maruti says that it has made loads of changes to the car and it’s not a pure version of Swift with a boot.

Tata Nano

Launched in the year 2009, Tata Nano managed to lure Indian budget car buyers initially but later on it faced tough times.
