The Indian car market has made a sluggish start in the new fiscal as compared to the last year.
The year 2010 was phenomenal for car sales in the country, mostly because of a number of new launches.
This year too car manufacturers have planned a couple of new launches to lure in the buyers.
Here is a look at five sedans that are likely to make it to Indian showrooms this year.

Nissan Sunny
Nissan's all new 'Global Sedan', known as Nissan Sunny across the markets where it is available, was spotted being tested in India recently.
The car is based on Nissan's versatile 'V' platform, and it is a saloon version of the company's recently launched hatchback Micra.
According to media reports Sunny is likely to come with two engine options for India -- a 1.5 litre four-cylinder motor producing around 100bhp and the 1.5 litre diesel.

The diesel engine is likely to be shared by Micra. Sunny is likely to be pitted against players like Maruti Swift Dzire, Volkswagen Vento, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Verna, et al in the Indian market.
And it might be priced aggressively in the Rs 4.85 lakh (Rs 485,000) to Rs 6.10 lakh (Rs 610,000) bracket.

Hyundai RB saloon
The car is actually an upgraded version of the Accent and was launched during the Moscow motor show last year.
The car has earlier been spotted testing somewhere near Kodaikanal in South India.
RB saloon will come with Hyundai's new 1.4 and 1.6 Gamma petrol engines, producing 106bhp and 122bhp, respectively.

It is likely to have a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual transmission option for both engines.
The car has been named Solaris in Russia, but its Indian name is still not out.

Skoda Rapid
The company is all set come up with a sedan named Rapid, based on Vento's platform, this Diwali.
The car will be based on Skoda's vision D concept showcased at the Geneva Auto Show.
The car will have a new front profile dominated by a wider front grill and complimented by bold lines.

The car will flaunt the company's new black on chrome logo.
It is likely to be powered by a 1.6 litre petrol engine capable of delivering 105 bhp falling in a price bracket of Rs 700,000 to Rs 780,000, approximately.
The car will be placed below the Vento and would be in direct competition with Maruti SX4.

Maruti Swift Dzire
The bestselling entry-level sedan is all set to go for a facelift as suggest by certain media reports.
The new version of the car is likely to be under four metres in length, powered by 1.2- and 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines.

This will help the carmaker enjoy duty cuts thereby making the car cheaper by about Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.

New Hyundai Verna
India's largest carmaker Hyundai Motor India on Wednesday launched the new version of its sedan Verna, in both diesel and petrol options at an introductory price between Rs 6.99 lakh (Rs 699,000) and Rs 10.75 lakh (Rs 1.075 million), ex-showroom Delhi.
The company will offer the car in 1.4 litre and 1.6 lire engine variants with both petrol and diesel options.
